Australian Pensioner Funerals is a family owned & operated funeral home, providing Melbourne families with quality and affordable burial and cremation funeral services since 1993. We are not affiliated with any corporations.
Our first funeral service was conducted in April 1993 when we were known as ‘Pensioner Funerals’. In 2002, we changed our name to ‘Australian Pensioner Funerals’, reflecting our pride in being a 100% Australian owned and operated business.
Our main office space is currently located in Johnston Street, Abbotsford. We moved from our previous office in Lennox Street, Richmond in 2016.
Appointments to arrange funerals and prepaid funerals can be made at our office or, as many families prefer, our funeral consultants travel to appointments in the homes of families or friends. When required, funerals can also be arranged remotely over the phone or using zoom.
Australian Pensioner Funerals has always been focused on providing affordable, dignified funeral services for local families at local cemeteries in and around Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Geelong and some regional Victorian locations.
Our experienced and dedicated Funeral Consultants ( Funeral Directors) are well supported by our team of Funeral Assistants, Staff Celebrants, Client Service Staff (Administration), a Qualified Mortician and our Design staff. We have long established relationships with a range of companies that supply funeral related services and products, providing families and friends arranging funerals with choice and quality.
We offer discounted funeral packages which may be adapted to meet individual requests and cultural or religious requirements. We have a long history in facilitating religious funeral services, of all denominations, in churches and other religious venues. For families preferring a different type of funeral service, we are able to assist by arranging funeral services in a range of venues. These may be privately owned reception venues, RSL clubs, local sporting clubs, and community spaces such as town halls.
All care provided to those entrusted to us is overseen by our highly experienced and qualified mortician & embalmer.

Transportation is provided in one of our own purpose-built funeral vehicles from our fleet including metallic silver hearses and customised van.
Mortuary care is provided in our modern, climate-controlled mortuary facilities and is overseen by an experienced mortician and embalmer. Transport from our mortuaries only occurs for the purpose of conducting a funeral service.
