Do I have to be on a pension to take advantage of Australian Pensioner Funerals services?
No, everyone is welcome to use our services whether they are receiving a pension or not.
How can I be sure that I am only getting the services I need? Do your staff work on commission?
We have a strong belief in integrity and wish to provide you with only the services that you require. Our funeral directors are not on commission, and do not not receive incentives to sell you more expensive funeral products or services.
All of our staff take pride in providing quality, affordable funerals to families.
Are there any hidden fees in your package prices?
No, our complete package prices provide a complete and dignified funeral service. GST is included in all of our quotes. Our only additional fee is if an after hours transfer is required (as noted in the package prices) or a transfer from locations further than 70 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD.
What is an after hours transfer fee?
A transfer is when your family member or friend is relocated into our care. An after hours transfer fee applies when a transfer is required out of business hours (9.00 a.m – 5.00 pm, Mon – Fri). This is applicable in certain circumstances, most commonly from aged care or palliative care homes where no mortuary facilities are located on site. It is not applicable to transfers from the Coroner’s Court or major hospitals.
Where do cremations take place?
We offer cremations at all of the regulated cemeteries in Melbourne and Geelong with crematoriums. These include Fawkner Memorial Park, Altona Memorial Park, Lilydale Memorial Park, Bunurong Memorial Park, Springvale Botanical Cemetery and Geelong Cemetery.
We do not transfer loved ones interstate for cremation.
Families and friends arranging the funeral have the choice of which cemetery they would like the cremation to take place.
Can you arrange transfers interstate or overseas?
If wanting a funeral in Melbourne, we can readily arrange to transfer a family member or friend from regional areas and other states in Australia into our care.
We can also arrange transfers to international destinations, meeting all local requirements.
When an international transfer is required from another country, this is usually arranged by a Funeral Director local to the country who understand the requirements of the country. We liaise with Funeral Directors in other countries to collect loved ones that have been transferred from overseas from local airports.
Do you arrange to send Cremated Ashes overseas?
Yes, we have a relationship with a specialised freight service to send cremated ashes overseas on behalf of families and friends. It is not possible to mail ashes overseas using Australia Post.
Do your offer Prepaid Funerals?
Yes, we have a long history of assisting people to pre-plan for their funeral and offer Prepaid Funerals.
