Choosing a funeral company is an important decision. It can be one of the hardest decisions you will be required to make when needing to arrange a funeral.
If a family member’s passing is not expected or there is pressure to make a decision quickly, it is important to consider whether the funeral company chosen understands your personal situation and is able to provide a fitting and dignified tribute for your loved one.
It is our priority to provide affordable funeral services that are arranged with attention to detail and compassion. We take a personalised approach to planning funerals.
Our Funeral Directors take care to ensure that they understand the cultural, spiritual and financial needs of those organising a funeral.
We are available 24 hours a day and are able to respond quickly to requests related to arranging a funeral and providing information.
Contacting Us
When a person has passed, it is preferable that we are contacted by a family member, the next of kin, or a representative for the next of kin. This may be a person or agency (eg. Aged Care Care Home). We are available all hours, every day.
Our staff will be able to provide the caller with any information and our current pricing. The caller will be asked to provide some information including the location of the person that has passed. Following the call, we will contact the relevant hospital, aged care home or the Coroner’s Court to arrange to transfer the person into our care. This may be a priority in some circumstances and if this is the case, we are able to make arrangements quickly at any time, including during the night.
Following the initial call, one of our Funeral Directors will contact a nominated family member or friend to organise a suitable time and venue to meet to make funeral arrangements. We prefer to meet in person when arranging attended funeral services. If this is not possible we can make arrangements remotely.
It is not necessary to contact a funeral company immediately if a person has passed in a large hospital. Transfers are not usually required outside of business hours unless requested by the hospital.
We can be contacted by the next of kin or their representative to provide our pricing, answer any questions and initiate funeral arrangements when required.

Role of our Funeral Directors (Consultant)
The Funeral Director is the staff member who will plan and organise the funeral in collaboration with family members or friends.
Our consultants will travel to meet with those organising the funeral at a convenient location. This may be at a person’s home, a community space or at one of our offices. Those involved in the planning of the funeral will have the opportunity to discuss their wishes and needs for the service.
Decision making related to the timing and location of the funeral service will be guided by the consultant who will make bookings with relevant venues. The Funeral Director is also responsible for fulfilling all of the requests made that are associated with the funeral. For most funerals, the same Funeral Consultant will be attending and coordinating the funeral service on the day.
Our Funeral Director will be also available to assist with any enquiry in the time leading up to the funeral.
Funeral Arrangements
When making funeral arrangements, our consultants will provide gentle advice when needed, to assist families and friends to make important decisions about the day.
Considerations for a Funeral
Some of the things that will be discussed if arranging an attended funeral service are listed below:
- Are you requiring a burial or cremation?
- Where would you like the Funeral Service be held? This may be a chapel, church, graveside at a cemetery, reception venue or community club or hall.
- Which day, date and time is preferred for the service?
- Would you like the service to be led by a Celebrant or Religious Minister?
- Will there be speakers to deliver a eulogy or read a poem or tribute?
- Would an alternative coffin or casket be more suitable?
- What are your preferences of colours and flowers for the floral casket sheaf?
- Are there particular songs or music you would like played at the service?
- What type of funeral stationery would you like for the service (Order of Service booklets, Thank you cards or Memorial Bookmarks)?
- Would you like an audiovisual photo presentation to be shown at the service?
- Would you like the service to be live-streamed?
- Are there any cultural or religious traditions that should be included in the service?
- Would you like to place a funeral notice or tribute in a newspaper?
- Are there other requests that you have to personalise the service?
At the end of the meeting, many of the decisions will be made about how the funeral will be customised to truly reflect both the life of the person and the requests of family and friends.
The decisions that have been made will be documented and a Funeral Agreement will be provided to ensure that requests for the funeral service have been understood. The agreement will also include a detailed account of the costs associated with the funeral service that has been arranged.
We strongly believe in transparency for our clients and ensure that there will be no additional hidden costs. The prices at the time of the arrangement are fixed and will not change.
All requirements associated with the funeral service will be arranged by the Funeral Director who will be available when required to respond to any further requests.
