About Us

Australian Pensioner Funerals is a funeral company that has been owned by the same Melbourne family for over 30 years. We are an independent company not associated with any corporations.

Our company has always been focused on providing affordable and quality funeral services for local families at local cemeteries in and around Melbourne and some regional Victorian locations. We choose to support Victorian Cemeteries and do not transfer loved ones interstate for cremation.

Our first funeral service was conducted in April 1993 when we were known as ‘Pensioner Funerals’. In 2002, we changed our name to ‘Australian Pensioner Funerals’, reflecting our pride in being a wholly Australian owned and operated business.

We have always serviced all areas across Melbourne, Geelong and some regional areas of Victoria. Over the years, we have adapted with the growth of Melbourne, continuing to service the established areas of Melbourne in addition to the new suburbs in the growth corridors on its outskirts.

Our main office space is currently located in Johnston Street, Abbotsford. We moved from our previous office in Richmond in 2016. Appointments to arrange funerals and prepaid funerals can be made at our office or, as many families prefer, our Funeral Consultants travel to arrange appointments in the homes of families or friends. When required, funerals can also be arranged remotely over the phone or using zoom.

David and Arianne are our experienced and dedicated Funeral Consultants (Funeral Directors). They are well supported by our team of Funeral Assistants, Staff Celebrants, Client Service Staff, a Qualified Mortician and our Design Staff.

Our company has its own private room for viewings, a mortuary facility and coffin showroom located in West Brunswick. Funeral services are conducted using our own well-presented silver hearses.

We have long established relationships with a range of companies that supply funeral related services and products, providing families and friends arranging funerals with choice and quality.

Over the years we have been privileged to have assisted families from many varying cultures and religious backgrounds. We have a long history in facilitating religious funeral services, of all denominations, in churches and other religious venues.

For families requesting an alternative funeral service, we are able to assist by arranging funeral services in a range of venues. These may be reception venues, RSL clubs, local sporting clubs, and community spaces.
